Age relaxation
Unreserved Female, BC (Male/Female), and EBC (Male/Female) upper age limit is 40 years as on 01.08.2026. SC and ST (Male/Female) upper age limit is 42 years as on 01.08.2026. Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (Divyang) receive 10 years relaxation in upper age limit. Ex-Servicemen receive 3 years relaxation plus length of defence service (maximum actual age 57 years). A special 10-year age relaxation applies in the maximum age limit for this first recruitment cycle.

05Eligibility
- Domicile & Nationality: Candidate must be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident (domicile holder) of Bihar state under Bihar School Librarian Rules 2025.
- Academic Qualification: Graduation degree in Library Science (B.Lib / B.L.I.Sc.) from a recognized university with at least 45% marks or equivalent grade.
- Marks Relaxation: Minimum marks relaxation of 5% (minimum 40% required) is applicable for SC, ST, EBC, BC, PwD, Women, and EWS candidates of Bihar domicile.
- Age Limit Rules: Minimum age is 21 years as on 01.08.2026. Maximum age is 37 years for UR Male, 40 years for UR Female/BC/EBC, and 42 years for SC/ST candidates.
- Age Relaxations: Divyang candidates get 10 years relaxation; Ex-Servicemen get 3 years plus service rendered (up to 57 years). A 10-year relaxation applies in this cycle.
- Women Reservation: 35% of total school librarian positions are reserved for eligible female candidates as per Bihar government recruitment rules.
- Purpose of BSLET 2026: Qualifying the test awards an Eligibility Certificate required for participation in the subsequent BPSC school librarian recruitment process.
06Selection Process

Computer Based Test (CBT): Single-stage online exam of 150 MCQs (100 Library Science + 50 GK) carrying 150 marks, 150 mins duration, no negative marking.

Normalization Process: Score normalization across multi-session shifts to calculate final normalized scores for result processing.

Eligibility Certificate Award: Candidates securing category qualifying marks on normalized score (General 50%, BC 45.5%, EBC 42.5%, SC/ST/PwD/Women 40%) receive certificate.

Subsequent BPSC Recruitment Round: Certificate holders participate in BPSC direct recruitment for final school librarian appointment in Bihar.

Click New Registration, enter name, mobile number, and email ID to generate OTP and receive User ID and Password.

Log in with credentials and fill out personal, educational, category, and domicile details carefully.

Upload recent passport-size color photograph (3.5x4.5 cm) and signature as per prescribed size and format guidelines.

Upload required certificates including Class 10 DOB proof, Class 12, B.Lib degree, Bihar domicile, and category certificates.
