Age relaxation
PwD candidates: 10 years relaxation in upper age limit. Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation equal to service duration + 3 years (actual age after deduction must not exceed 57 years). Bihar Government Employees: Up to 5 years upper age relaxation for competing in recruitment (maximum 5 attempts allowed). Panchayati Raj & Nagar Nikay Teachers: Upper age limit relaxed as per applicable state rules. Retirement Age: Fixed at 60 years.

05Eligibility
- Nationality: Applicant must be a citizen of India. Reservation, relaxation, and domicile benefits apply exclusively to permanent residents of Bihar.
- Primary Teacher (Class 1-5): Senior Secondary (10+2) or equivalent with at least 50% marks (or 45% as per NCTE 2002 regulations) AND 2-year D.El.Ed / 4-year B.El.Ed / 2-year Special D.El.Ed OR Graduation with D.El.Ed AND CTET Paper-I or BTET Paper-I.
- Middle School Teacher (Class 6-8): Graduation in relevant subject AND 2-year D.El.Ed / B.Ed / 4-year B.El.Ed / B.Sc.Ed / B.A.Ed / B.Ed (Special Education) OR BCA/B.Tech with prescribed training AND CTET Paper-II or BTET Paper-II.
- Secondary Teacher (Class 9-10): Bachelor's or Master's Degree in concerned subject with at least 50% marks (45% as per NCTE norms) AND B.Ed / B.A.Ed / B.Sc.Ed AND STET Paper-I.
- Higher Secondary Teacher (Class 11-12): Master's Degree in concerned subject with at least 50% marks (45% as per NCTE norms) AND B.Ed / 3-year integrated B.Ed-M.Ed AND STET Paper-II. (B.Ed not required for Computer Science).
- STET 2026 Appearing Candidates Route: Candidates appearing in STET 2026 holding requisite academic and training qualifications may apply by submitting a self-declaration form, provided they pass STET 2026 prior to the objective written exam.
- 40% Bihar Schooling Provision: Under Education Department Memo 2128 dated 05.08.2025, 40% of total vacancies are filled by candidates who passed Matriculation or Intermediate from an educational institution situated within Bihar (including undivided Bihar prior to 2000 division).

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has issued revised Advertisement No. 15/2026 for the School Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE 4.0) to fill 32,388 teacher vacancies across Bihar government schools. This advertisement officially cancels and replaces the earlier Advertisement No. 14/2026. Online registration and form submission open on 25 September 2026 and close on 26 October 2026 at bpsconline.bihar.gov.in. The recruitment covers Primary Teachers (Class 1-5), Middle School Teachers (Class 6-8), Secondary Teachers (Class 9-10), and Higher Secondary Teachers (Class 11-12).
06Selection Process

Stage 1: Written Examination (Objective MCQ format, 150 Questions, 150 Marks, Duration: 2 Hours 30 Minutes. 1/3 negative marking applies for wrong answers and unattempted questions where Option E is not selected).

Stage 2: Merit List Preparation (Prepared on Part-II General Studies marks for Primary Class 1-5; aggregate of Part-II + Part-III marks for Class 6-12. Part-I Language is qualifying with 30% minimum and serves as tie-breaker). No interview stage.

Stage 3: Document Verification (Verification of original educational certificates, training diplomas/degrees, TET/STET certificates, category, and domicile documents).

Visit the official BPSC online application portal at bpsconline.bihar.gov.in.

Complete One Time Registration (OTR) by selecting "New User Registration" using a valid mobile number and email address (or log in using existing OTR credentials).

Complete DigiLocker verification through the Meri Pehchan Portal and link required certificates with your profile.

Fill in the 6 profile creation sections: Personal Information, Address Details, Other Information, Qualification Details, Experience Information, and Webcam Photo Capture / English & Hindi Signature Upload.

Verify all profile details carefully and click "Lock Profile" (Profile details cannot be updated once locked).

Go to "New Application" tab, select "School Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE 4.0), Advt. No. 15/2026", and select post preferences in order.

Click "Pay Fee" and complete online payment for the examination fee (and biometric fee if applicable) via SBI payment gateway.

Review the complete application form, submit finally, and download/print 2 hard copies of the application form displaying Application Number and Barcode for records.
